In RE we follow Understanding Christianity and The Emmanuel scheme of work.  

INTENT:  

Our RE curriculum, in line with RE in Church of England Schools- A Statement of Entitlement, in intended to build all pupils’ religious, theological and cultural literacy, which we interpret as the ability to understand key concepts of religions and worldviews and articulate informed, spiritual responses to these.  

In order to achieve this, through high quality teaching and learning, we intend to provide all pupils with: 

• a thorough knowledge and understanding of Christianity as a diverse, living faith.  
• understand and develop links between the beliefs, practices and values of major faiths and worldviews. 
• contribute to the development of pupils’ own spiritual and philosophical convictions by exploring and enriching their own beliefs and values.
