The governing body has a duty to ensure that the school adheres to the Code of Practice under the Children and Families Act 2014.
The governing body appoints a governor who is specifically responsible for special educational needs to support the Headteacher and SENCO in monitoring that the Code of Practice is fully implemented.
One of the key responsibilities of the governing body is to make sure that the school’s policy for children with special educational needs and disability (SEND) is published on the school website. The information on the school website must be reviewed annually by the governing body.

The governing body also has a responsibility to ensure that appropriate safeguarding procedures are in place for all pupils, including those who have SEND.
The SEND team ensures that where necessary, other appropriate agencies are involved in meeting the needs of pupils. You will be informed and your views listened to at each and every stage of this process.
The school is committed to supporting children and young people with SEN and/or Disabilities and works alongside professionals at Access to Education to ensure best outcomes for this group. To view this in more detail, please click on the link below.
